Join us for the Fourth Annual Old Fashioned Strawberry Festival on
Saturday, June 18, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. – 3 p.m.
In addition to the traditional homemade strawberry shortcakes served, the event will also feature Belgian strawberry waffles made to order. The strawberries for the event are locally grown at McQuesten Farm in Litchfield and freshly picked and prepared day before. The Reverend’s “World Famous” sausage grinders, hot dogs, soft drinks and baked goods will also be offered.
There will be entertainment for all and activities for the kids throughout the day. The Granite State Cloggers will be on stage from 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. The Jon Gaines Jazz Combo will perform between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. In recognition of the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War the 5th NH Volunteer Regiment of Civil War re-enactors will set up an encampment by the river, and show Civil War artifacts at the Litchfield Historical Society’s Old Town Hall next door. They will also “recruit” the children for some real Civil War drilling and marching. In addition children are invited to participate in the watermelon seed spitting contest, donut eating contest, muffin decorating, 3 legged races, and an egg race or have their face painted.
Special thanks to the Campbell High School Graphic Arts class and students who designed the flyers for the event. Designs by Cameron Yoos and Garrett Bryant were selected for printing.
