<description>We were in Litchfield from 1973 to 1978. Jack and Pat Jackson and Candace Hale were very active in the church, and great friends. Candace and I started the kindergarten in the newly constructed basement. She acquired the teacher and materials and I researched and acquired the necessary items and permits required by the state re building, safety, egress and operation of a private school. It was a wonderful time in our lives with our three children. There may still be someone there who remembers one of our children dressed as an angel with wings that nearly instigated a riot among the children during the Christmas nativity procession through the church. He saw the wings on his back and jumped up on the pews trying to fly. The other angels saw him and did the same thing! He DID eventually get a pilots license! I believe that I (Kurt) transferred my membership to Litchfield from the United Methodist Church of Alexandria Bay, NY and my wife, Else, by reaffirmation, having been baptised and a member of the German Evangelical Church in The Netherlands. We now live in FL and wish to become members of our local Methodist church. Please check if we did indeed become members and let me know so we can transfer membership. Congratulations on your 200th anniversary. We wish all of you a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year and hope it&#039;s not too cold this winter.
