Message from the Pastor, April 13, 2017

To the faithful followers of Jesus Christ at Litchfield Community Church and beyond!

We are moving into the final days leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection.

Maundy Thursday will be celebrated at 7:00. It is a short and simple remembrance of Jesus’ last night with his disciples. Jesus wanted them with him because they were his loved ones. We will try to recapture his love reaching out to us today. This service can be meaningful to school age children as well as adults. There are reading parts, and we all sit at the table, thinking of Jesus’ love at the Last Supper. If you or your children would be willing to take a reading part, that would be helpful – let me know.

Good Friday is Open Chapel from 12:00-3:00. You may choose to come for 5 minutes or longer, to reflect on what Jesus did at the cross. Every half hour there will be a short meditation on one of the 7 things Jesus said while on the cross. You are invited to read, or to listen.

Sunday Sunrise Service begins at 6:30 and is led by the Youth. They are hoping to meet behind Riverside Cottage, weather permitting.

Pancake Breakfast at 7:00.

During the 10:00 Worship Service on Sunday there will be an Easter egg hunt for the children, beginning at 10:30. The eggs will be hidden outdoors, weather permitting, or in the Fellowship Hall. There will also be an Easter craft.

There will be a Guest Speaker at the 10:00 Worship Service. Mary Magdalene is going to tell us her story.

May your heart be filled with joy as we approach the weekend.

Pray for Two in the Pew.
